Registries
The registries record, in one file each, who accepted, returned or refused a unit of work, which inputs were admitted from outside, which drafts were promoted or instructions adopted as defaults, and which findings remain open.
| File | One row records | A row does not establish |
|---|---|---|
ai/records/acceptances.jsonl |
A decision to accept, return or refuse the commits of one record: who, of which kind (person, model, delegated actor or undeclared), their words verbatim, who recorded it, the commit it runs through when one was named, and any objections. | That the actor is who the name says, or that the actor was independent beyond what was declared. A model’s row is model review: advisory, never acceptance. |
sources/intake.jsonl |
An intake record of material from outside: what it is, where it came from, its version, who decided and of which kind, the decision (admit, return or refuse), what was checked first, what it is for, the authority, and the file and its digest. | That the check was adequate. An entry that checked nothing is recorded as “nothing stated”, and a row that declares no kind of actor, as rows written before 0.1.0-rc22 do, reads “kind not declared”. A row removes nothing from the project. |
sources/transitions.jsonl |
A draft moved into paper/ (promotion) or an instruction adopted as a default (default adoption): the object and its digest, the checks, the actor, the authority, the decision, the destination and the commits. |
Authority: the row records, and the words it names authorize. Moving an object does not make it accepted or valid. |
ai/defects.jsonl |
A finding with a stable id: its label, severity, quote and source, the outputs it reaches, who raised it, the fix and fixer, the rechecks, and its state. | That the work is accepted or may be published. A verification is a technical record only. |
trace_record.py registries validates the first three on read, and the workflow check fails on a malformed row, so it is reported where it can be fixed.
See Review states and Defect states for what the decision and defect rows can say.
